Born in Detroit, Tim Steele moved to western Michigan to attend the Grand Valley State Colleges, where he was an Arts & Media major.
He went into professional radio, utilizing his versatility to springboard his popularity.
In 1991, he left radio to open Norton Fixx Productions, a full-service production- and project management company. Over the next ten years, Tim produced films, commercials, awards shows and syndicated game shows.
In 2000 he ran for the United States Congress in Michigan's 3rd District. He lost - but earned more votes than any other challenger in that district ever has, before or since.
Tim returned to radio in 2003, hosting a daily morning news-talk program.
He left to finish his first novel, The Affairs of State, that draws on both his broadcasting and political background. It's published by Twenty First Century Publishers Ltd. in London.
In 2006, he became the Web Managing Editor for woodtv.com, the online arm of the NBC affiliate in Grand Rapids.
Like most Michiganders, Tim Steele loves the Tigers and the Red Wings, and uses the palm of his right hand to show you he lives due west of the base of your thumb.
